Drake is currently on his Boy Meets World tour with a fellow Toronto artist Pressa, who is an accused kidnapper. A police inspector now weighs in and isn’t feeling Drizzy pulling this move.
But did Drake even know of the artist’s past? Maybe, maybe not. Nonetheless the 20-year old is facing charges of kidnapping for ransom and assault with a weapon, following an alleged kidnapping and condo shoot up in Toronto last year. He’s awaiting trial in October, but many are wondering why he was allowed to leave the country and go international:
“I find it troubling,” said police inspector Mike Earl. “Here’s a guy (who’s) supposed to be on bail on serious charges. Why is he permitted to leave country and tour with somebody who is a literal mentor to the city’s youth?”
Toronto Sun columnist Joe Warmington also thinks Drake is being irresponsible to say the least as a keyholder of the city of Toronto:
“There are questions for Drake, too. As a recipient of Toronto’s key to the city, is the international star concerned about not only associating with someone facing serious criminal allegations but also helping to facilitate and foster that person’s life and career.”
