During the second quarter of Friday’s game between the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors, the teams got into a scuffle after DeMarre Carroll pushed Isaiah Thomas to the floor while he was on a fast break. As you might expect, he didn’t take very kindly to the gesture.

Thomas got up and ran after Carroll to get in his face but his teammates were already on the job as well. Carroll was given a flagrant foul for the shove and after the game Thomas let reporters know how he felt about him.

“It was intentional. Did you see it?” Thomas said after scoring 20 points in the Celtics’ 107-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors. “Yeah, that’s not a basketball play by any means. Guys who aren’t factors in games do that. It is what it is.”

“It’s not like back in the day where you can put your hands up and fight a guy,” Thomas said. “You can’t do that. But that was not a basketball play whatsoever, and that’s not cool that he did that.”

The Raptors may have benefited the most from the altercation as they pretty much took over the game from that point on. After being down by 17 at one point, the Raptors used a strong second half and combined with a weak fourth quarter from Thomas and the Celtics, they were able to get the win.
