Big is getting honored 20 years after his passing and becoming a global hip-hop icon through the lens of a documentary.
This has been trying to get made for years now, but 2017 is the year we hear of an official Notorious B.I.G documentary, with his mother Voletta Wallace serving as one of the executive producers.
According to Variety, the documentary will be called Notorious B.I.G.: One More Chance, and it’ll focus on the rapper’s music and global influence. So far there is no release date for the project, but Big’s mom had this to say on her late great son:
“It brings so much joy to my heart that my son Christopher’s music has made such an impact on the music community, and his stories have positively inspired so many young men and women over the years and still influencing the youth all over the world today.”
Director of the doc, Emmet Malloy, said it’s an honor to honor Big:
“The challenge of making a film about one of the most influential artist of my generation is what I live for as a filmmaker.”
