The field for the All-Star Saturday night competitions were finalized yesterday and it’s shaping up to be a good one. We all know the All-Star game itself gets plenty of attention on Sunday but it’s the events like the dunk contest and three point shootout on Saturday night that set the weekend off right. Check out which players will be participating.

As you can see, the field for the skills contest is loaded. For those who don’t know, the skills challenge is a combination of passing, shooting, dribbling and finishing, which in this field, will favor the likes of Isaiah Thomas and John Wall but it’s such a talented and diverse field that I could also easily see Kristaps Porzingis or even Joel Embiid winning.
For the dunk contest, unfortunately we won’t see a rematch of the epic finals last year between Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon. LaVine decided not to return this year, which should make Gordon the favorite but the little known Derrick Jones Jr may turn plenty of heads when it’s his turn.
2017 NBA 3-Point Contest Field: Kyrie Irving, CJ McCollum, Kemba Walker, Wesley Matthews, Nick Young, Eric Gordon, Klay Thompson, Kyle Lowry

The group of shooters for this years three point contest may be one of the deepest in years. Defending champion, Klay Thompson is back to try and keep his crown but a deep field with Kyrie, McCollum and the always wild card in Nick Young, will make it tough to repeat.
