Damarion Thomas, a former Saginaw Sunny Side Gang member, was shot and killed by two gunmen wearing masks and carrying assault type rifles. One of the gunmen shot Thomas in the head while his partner held dozens of people hostage. Thomas was shot execution style while in a halfway house. He was one of many prisoners who had their sentences pardoned by President Obama.
Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser says,
“One person watched over a group of them while another subject located the victim and executed him. They were looking for this person.”
The suspects are still at large. No one else was injured. Thomas died at the scene. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison in 2008 after he was convicted on drug charges.
