Tonight the Cleveland Cavaliers will walk into the Oracle Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors for the first time since their 2016 NBA championship win, and for their second matchup of the season after the Cavs won on Christmas. LeBron James had some very positive words for the Warriors, although they were not happy about the decorations from his Halloween party that boasted about the Cavs 3-1 comeback, and reportedly had a Stephen Curry doll guests had to walk over.
James says the Warriors are even more dangerous this year. They set a new NBA record going 73-9 last season, and though they won’t match that, they added superstar Kevin Durant, and increased their points per game, point differential and field goal percentage from last season.
“They’re even more dangerous,” James admitted. “They’re even more dangerous than they were last year and that’s pretty hard to say because they were a damn great team last year and they’re even better this year.”
“I don’t pay that much attention to what they’re trying to do as far as fitting in,” James said. “You have to be around them every day to know that. But they’re a great team, a hell of a team, probably one of the best teams ever assembled and they’re going to continue to get better and better as the season goes along.”
“That’s far removed, man,” James said about the Halloween decorations according to ESPN. “There were a lot of people featured. I was also featured in there too. But that’s water under the bridge.”
