#WhereIsSasha became a trending topic during President Obama’s final farewell speech last night, as the 15-year-old was missing in action for quite a big night! Big sis Malia was present and of course, our FLOTUS Michelle, so honestly – where WAS Sasha?

Was she grounded? Was she being a typical teen and didn’t feel like going? Was the event so packed, that even the President could only get a plus 2? (Ha!) Welp, the answer is far less exciting than any of these options.

Sasha is a sophomore at the prestigious DC private school, Sidwell Friends, and a senior administration official explained that Sasha had to miss the speech because she has a huge exam in the morning. Yep, pretty boring. (Although, damn – the whole, “My dad is President and has a REALLY major speech,” line couldn’t get you a makeup test? Sheesh!)

However, Sasha was still there in spirit last night, acknowledged by dad in his speech:

“Malia and Sasha, under the strangest of circumstances, you have become two amazing young women. You are smart and you are beautiful but more importantly, you are kind and you are thoughtful — and you are full of passion. And bore the burden of years in the spotlight so easily. Of all that I have done in my life, I am most proud to be your dad.”

So sweet! Ugh, we are truly going to miss this First Family!
