Ice Cube kicked off a new venture called the BIG3; it’s a 3-on-3 league featuring some past stars from the NBA including the one and only Allen Iverson.
The league, which is launching this summer, includes Roger Mason as president and commissioner. Allen Iverson will be one of eight dual head coach/players in the league. BIG3 is comprised of former NBA players including Chauncey Billups, Kenyon Martin, Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O’Neal, Stephen Jackson and Jason Williams. They will travel throughout eight cities and venues.
Iverson along with Ice Cube and others appeared at a news conference in New York today to introduce the league.
The 41-year-old guard was taken as the No. 1 overall pick in 1996 NBA draft. He was the 2001 NBA MVP and an 11-time All-Star in his 14-year NBA career. He played his final NBA game for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2010. Iverson was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September.
