Disney took out a huge insurance policy on actress Carrie Fisher when they signed her to a three-film contract for the Star Wars series, and because of her untimely death, they now stand to make $50 million from it.

Carrie had just finished filming for Star Wars Episode VIII before her passing last month, but was also set to star in Star Wars Episode IX, slated for release in 2019. Because her contract was unable to be fulfilled, the insurance company will pay up – and the payout is said to be one of the largest personal accident claims in history.
Star Wars Episode IX will now be rewritten without Carrie. RIP!
