Spike TV has now released the official trailer for Jay-Z’s, “TIME: The Kalief Browder Story.” This documentary tell the story of Kalief Browder, who was arrested in 2010 on false robbery charges at the age of 16. Browder did three years on Rikers Island with no conviction. He was released in 2013 but committed suicide three years later.
Jay recently signed a deal with Weinstein Company. When speaking on the series he said,
“We’re the voice We’re society. We affect change. We can change everything. Our voices are stronger than ever. If everyone in this room is like, ‘I don’t agree with this happening to a 16-year-old,’ then it won’t happen again. It’s that simple.”
The first two episodes of the series will debut at the Sundance Music Festival. It can be seen from Jan. 19 – Jan. 29 at The 2017 festival in Park City, Utah. The series will be hitting television screens Spike TV Wednesday, March 1 at 10 p.m. ET.
