Dylann Roof has been found guilty by a jury on 12 of his counts in his federal trial in for killing nine people in 2015 at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He faces 33 federal charges in total, and could face the death penalty.
“He needs to be held accountable for every bullet,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathan Williams told the jury. “The parishioners could not have seen the hatred in his heart,” Williams said. “He sat and waited until they were at their most vulnerable.”

Sentencing begins in early January.Roof has said he wants to represent himself in that part of the case.
