Yesterday, a rappers list placing today’s most relevant rappers in tiers from pretty much greatest to least went viral and made it’s way to A$AP Rocky, who was placed in the “overrated” category. You know he had something to say about it…
Rocky tweeted out:
“ASAP ROCKY OVERRATED ? ?HOW SWAY? NIGGA I PUT OUT A ALBUM ONCE EVERY 2 YEARS , I SEE I GOTTA LEVEL UP ON NIGGAS ONCE AGAIN 4 2017, SAY LESS”
Honestly I thought he would’ve been put in the “underrated” category, but I digress. Who made the list is unknown, but it’s true that it’s so divisive…how do you determine who the best is? Is it the ones who chart the highest on Billboard, most top 10 records, most number 1 singles, most number 1 albums, who spits the fastest, who spits the longest, who makes the most songs, who makes the most money, who’s the most clever with their bars, who has a stronger message, or who can mumble most unclearly?
One thing’s for sure I don’t see any other genre of music placing their artists in greatest to least lists. Why are we so adamant about crowning a “champion” ?
