On December 16, 1996, Aaliyah gave us one of the best R&B records of the past 20 years with “One in a Million”. Co-written by none other than Missy Elliot, she shared a post on Instagram yesterday to show her appreciation for the singer and show that their relationship was more than just business related.
Aaliyah still has an affect on artists today which shows how huge her impact was. Missy says from artists like Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole, Bebe Rexha and Partynextdoor were all influenced by her and producer Timbaland’s sound on the track. That also opened doors for future collaborations for Missy and Timbaland.
