Amy Roof, the mother of Dylann Roof suffered a heart attack during opening statements in Dylann’s trial. The incident took place as Roof’s lawyers mentioned the incident in an argument for a mistrial in the trial’s second day.
The defense filling said,
“Highlighting the emotional nature of the proceedings, the media noted that following the opening statements, the defendant’s mother required emergency medical attention.”
There was a lot of people crying during day one of the trial. Roof killed nine people in Charleston, South Carolina at a church during bible study. There is currently no update on Amy’s condition.
