Draymond Green is still flailing his body on the court in an exaggerated manner and it caught up with him last night against the Rockets. Despite all the attention Green brought himself last season for the way he throws his arms and legs around, which sometimes resulted in cheap shots on the opponent (just ask Steven Adams of the Thunder), he has still been caught doing it multiple times this season but not by the refs. Last night Draymond managed to kick James Harden in the face when he clearly didn’t need his body to react like that and the refs hit him with a flagrant foul for it. Not so shockingly, Draymond didn’t agree.

With 2:10 left in the second overtime of the Warriors’ 132-127 loss to the Rockets, Green drove to the basket and was fouled by James Harden. As Green came down he threw his right foot up into the air, hitting the side of Harden’s head.

The result of the play was huge because after all the free throws were taken by Draymond and then Harden, the Rockets actually extended their lead to 128-124, which became enough to hold the Warriors off.

After the game it was clear Draymond was frustrated with the refs over the call. “They’re going to do what they want to do,” Green said. “Whatever they decide is what they decide. Ain’t much I can do about it, ain’t much apparently anybody else can do about it.

“So I really don’t care what it is they called it. I’ll move on.”

A reported asked what was his perspective of the sequence? “I really don’t have a perspective,” Green said. “That ain’t my job. They’ve got a whole replay center, they’ve got three officials out there. They’ve got a league office that made rules.

“That really ain’t my job to assess it. I just play”, he said before walking off. Draymond will never get the benefit of the doubt from the refs that these type of plays are accidental because they happen too often. He either has to cut that nonsense out and control his exaggerated movements or be prepared for plenty of flagrant and technical fouls to be called.
