An 8-month-old baby was found safe and sound after a storm in a drain 25 feet away from a car crash in which she was in. On Friday, a truck reportedly sideswiped a car on Interstate 30 in Texarkana, Arkansas. The crash caused the infant to eject from the vehicle.
Responders say that they heard a noise in the center divider and they found the child inside a storm drain.
Texarkana firefighter Josh Moore said,
“The baby … was sitting up and looking up at us waiting for us to pull her out. There had to be some kind of divine intervention for her to end up being OK.”
It took three firefighters to get the baby out of jail after she rolled down a hill and into the drain. Texarkana Fire Capt. Charlie Smith says,
“So many times, we go out and things aren’t OK…and just during the holidays here to have a positive just feels good.”
Police have determined that the child’s car seat was not properly secured at the time of the car crash. No one has been charged as of now. The driver of the truck that swiped the car has been cited for an improper and unsafe lane change.
Thank God this little baby is now safe.
