Abel’s about to kill it once more after Starboy has an official first week sales number. So far, it’s looking way up.
Hits Daily Double is projecting that The Weeknd’s third studio album will do between 350-400K sales plus streaming in its first week. I feel like it’s going to be a lot more than that, given the production quality and overall sound of the album, also projections have been wrong lately with streaming data making it harder and harder to pinpoint an exact number. We’ll see how it turns out on Friday.
If projections are met, The Weeknd will have the third biggest opening of the year in the R&B/Hip Hop genre, only trailing behind Drake’s Views (1.04 million) and Beyonce’s Lemonade (643,000).
