Darius Miles had alot of potential when he was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers with the third overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft. His game was exciting and the young Clippers team with Lamar Odom and others was gonna be exciting to watch for years. Or so we thought. Just like the Clippers didn’t work out, Miles career didn’t go exactly as planned. Still, he was able to earn quite a bit of money, $62 million dollars to be exact but similar to his career on the court, his wealth didn’t go as planned either, as he now has to sell plenty of items that he doesn’t want to let go, just to pay off debts.

Miles filed for bankruptcy towards the end of the summer and with a reported $1.5 million in debts compared to only $460,000 in assets, the trustee handling his case came up with a list of valuable things Miles could auction off to help debtors collect. Some of the things he will likely lose are going to really suck to see go.
A signed Lebron jersey is at the top of the list. Miles played with Lebron for two years in Cleveland. He will also likely lose an autographed bat from Mark McGwire, which say what you want about McGwire but that bat is still worth a pretty penny.
He will also likely lose some more generic items such as his playstation, Xbox, televisions, Cd’s, guns and more. This is all another sad case of young athletes not being able to handle their fortunes and spend wisely. $62 million dollars should have been more than enough for him to be comfortable for life. Instead he finds himself in his current predicament.
The auction will take place on December 14th in Illinois.
