Donald Glover speaks on the future of his hit television series, Atlanta, landing a role in Star Wars, and his new album that’s coming out soon.
Don spoke to Billboard about snagging the role of Lando Carlrissan in the upcoming Star Wars film:
“When the world found out I got the part is when I found out. Growing up, I was pretty into it. I got taken out of school to see Episode I. It was the first toy I had. The Dagobah system has definitely played a part in my dreams.”
When going in depth about his album and the success of ‘Atlanta’ as it started to smash records, he said he didn’t really see them as different things. He also describes the creative process of Atlanta as just hanging out:
“I don’t like offices. We could probably have one at the Fox lot, but then it wouldn’t feel like hanging, and that’s crucial for making interesting stuff. I don’t want it to feel like a television show.”
