Iman Shumpert got back in the booth and released his new track “Isaiah 54:17” a remix/freestyle of Young M.A’s hit “Ooouuu.” In the track, Shump talks about his wife Teyana, an extortion attempt, the Knicks, Terrence Howard and more.
Isaiah 54:17 in the King James version of the bible is this popular saying:
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
So you get the picture…
Last year Shumpert accused the show “Empire” of basing its characters Hakeem and Tiana off himself and his then-girlfriend, now wife Teyana Taylor. Terrence Howard, the star of the show, fired back saying he didn’t even know who Shumpert was. Shump fired back in his track saying:
“Building Empire imma give em’ hip hop, no more songs with goofy couples singing ‘Drip Drop/ Terrence Howard you a liar, you know you know me homie, but shouts to Brys and Taraji them my wifey homies”
Shump tore his ACL in 2012. In the track, he also got at the Knicks who benched him then eventually traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers along with J.R. Smith.
“I text my mommy said I’m sorry but I gotta kill, I tore my knee up they forgot and imma give em’ hell/ They done threw me in the corner no more point guard, They say just throw the fingers Melo got the points god/ But I put that on myself I let ’em do it to me, See I was younger I was dumb but that was foolish of me/ But I been switching up the jumper, working on the handle, Drop some weight and got meaner see what they can handle/ The repercussion coming y’all done had your warning, I’m overfocused they don’t understand who they provoking”
