It’s been 25 years to the day since Ervin “Magic” Johnson announced to the world that he was HIV-positive. Listen to what he has to say about living with the diagnosis.
Magic is understandably grateful that he is still alive though living with the deadly disease, but he is also sad for others that have not made it. Celebrities and everyday folks alike are crippled by this horrific disease that continues to run rampant in the urban and LGBT communities. He says that treatment for the disease has definitely progressed since 1991, however, we still have a long way to go. He also offers thanks to his wife, his children, the fans, teammates, and the media for the support that has been shown over the years.
Magic even took a few moments to chat it up with fans. Gotta love Magic.
