Lena Lunsford of West Virginia, killed her 3-year-old daughter and hid the death for five years. Lunsford was just arrested for Thursday and charged with death of a child by abuse. Police believe that she hid her daughter’s body and then filed a missing person’s report on reporting Aliayah missing September 24, 2011.
Officials believe that she hit her child in the head with a “blunt object.” They went on to say Lunsford watched Aliayah die and after the blow, the mother asked witnesses to keep quiet. Lewis County Sheriff Adam Gissy says,
“The investigation led us to believe that the one person who possesses this knowledge of Aliayah’s whereabouts is in police custody.”
Witnesses have even come forward in the death. How you could watch this sick woman commit such a crime and say nothing, I have no idea. The mother told police she had seen the girl in the morning and found her gone later that day. Just six months after the filed missing report, the FBI said they did not believe the little girl was abducted from the home. Lunsford had moved to Florida but was extradited to West Virginia after her arrest. She previously spent eight months in prison right after her daughter Aliayah’s allegedly “disappeared” for welfare fraud.
