When Lil Wayne said he doesn’t know what racism was because he’s never experienced it, he had everyone scratching or shaking their heads. Now in his new interview with ABC’s Nightline, we get a preview where Wayne explains his disconnection to the Black Lives Matter movement and why he doesn’t feel anything.
When Weezy was asked about his thoughts on Black Lives Matter, he replied:
“What is it? What do you mean? That just sounds weird. I don’t know, that you put a name on it…It’s not a name, it’s not, ‘whatever whatever.’ It’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a fucked up reason.”
Then when he was asked on his connection to it, he clarified:
“I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me. If you do, you crazy as shit. You. Not the camera. You. Feeling connected to something that ain’t got nothing to do with you? If it ain’t got nothing to do with me, I ain’t connected to it.”
The full interview is set to air online shortly but in the meantime see for yourself Wayne’s comments:
