Kevin Durant was full of high praise for Anthony Davis yesterday ahead of the Warriors matchup with the Pelicans. Davis dropped 50 points in the season opening loss to the Nuggets and is a popular pick to win either the MVP award or the scoring title. KD doesn’t seem to think the scoring title will even be a close race.

Keep in mind, Durant was answering these questions about Davis before they played last night.

Welp, Davis pretty much proved KD right last night despite them losing to the Warriors. Davis dropped 45 points, along with 17 boards and now is averaging 47.5ppg for the first two. Obviously there is much more basketball left and his average will drop considerably but he should still wind up leading the league.
Steph Curry & Kd are always options to lead the league in scoring but since they are now teammates, neither one of them is likely to average their usual points per game. The only two other players who might wind up beating Davis for the title could either be Russell Westbrook or Damian Lillard.
