The judge in charge of El Chapo’s case was gunned down outside of his home in Mexico. Vicente Antonio Bermudez Zacarias, a federal judge in Mexico was coming home from a jog in Metepec, Mexico, when he was fatally shot in the head. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto says that the attorney general’s office is now conducting a thorough investigation.
Zacarias, the 37-year-old man, was a a district court magistrate for appeals and civil judgments in Toluca. He worked on appeals from a handful of accused drug lords. El Chapo being one of them. There has been a rumored video that allegedly shows the killer wearing dark clothing. The man ran behind the judge as he jogged and shot him in the head. He then fled the scene after.
El Chapo is currently being held in a federal prison in Cuidad Juarez. He is wanted in seven U.S. jurisdictions all for different things such as charges for murder, conspiracy to import and distribute drugs, money-laundering, and arms possession. As of now, Chapo will be extradited to the United States some time is 2017. Well that is, if he doesnt escape again. We know Chapo has escaped from prison twice. So let’s see if there will be another successful attempt.
