For whatever reason, people dressing up in clown costumes and terrorizing their neighborhoods has become the latest fad, and McDonald’s has been forced to make some changes because of it.

As you know, the famed burger chain’s mascot is a clown by the name of Ronald McDonald, and they’ve decided to cut down on his appearances until this whole clown craze blows over.

The company released a statement, saying that they’d be “thoughtful in respect to Ronald’s participation in community events” as a result of the “current climate around clown sightings in communities.” No word how long this will last.
