There has been quite the generational gap happening over the last few months with the rising fame of Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty and their fellow peers. Hip-hop legends don’t feel like the newbies are paying homage properly, and the newbies feel like they shouldn’t have to know every single piece of hip-hop history that came before them. However, Erick Sermon and Uzi are on the same page – which hopefully means others will follow suit.
Over the weekend, the pair were together at the Roots Picnic in NYC, and DJ Drama filmed the legendary EPMD rapper with his arm around Uzi, saying:
“A lot of people – people love him here tonight. And for us to come from that stage, and anybody who moved from my area and come in here to watch this man, mad respect.”
