Iggy Azalea was set to release her sophomore album, Digital Distortion, this past July. The “Fancy” rapper put out two singles in promotion of it, one of which she was pushing hard and performing at awards shows and TV appearances. Then, her personal life fell apart.
“I needed a lot of time,” she told PEOPLE about the delay. “I mean, you wake up one morning and your fiancé is having a baby with someone else, you’re going to need some time, right?”

The project was reportedly complete, but it looks like most of it is being scrapped in favor of some single ladies material.
“I want to have sexy songs. I want to say stuff about being single, ” Iggy explained. “I obviously didn’t write that on my [original] album because when I wrote it, I was about to get married.”
She also noted that she didn’t want to do the album promo rounds, and keep being asked about her engagement that “has just crumbled.” Shoot, who would?!
For now, Digital Distortion is looking at a January 2017 release. Her previous singles didn’t gain much traction anyway, so a fresh re-start seems necessary!
