The Cleveland Browns have made it clear they intend to move on from Josh Gordon and release him but it was not because he was caught with a pound of marijuana at a Cleveland airport. The website Scout.Com erroneously reported that Gordon was stopped by TSA agents after they discovered the weed in his luggage. It turns out their entire report was completely false.

After news of that bogus report, folks assumed that was the real reason he was checking himself into rehab but that was never the case according to TSA agents, as well as local police.
One highly connected TSA source via TMZ explains, “Gordon was screened by TSA last night (Thursday) without incident.”
The source also says there has been no TSA trouble with Gordon recently. We also spoke with the Cleveland PD which also shot down the report.
Even though that never happened, something is clearly still going on with Gordon off the field, evidenced by him going to rehab yesterday and releasing a statement. The Browns support him personally have apparently reached their limit.
“I think what’s best for our football team is that we move on and move forward,” coach Hue Jackson told reporters. “He’s not going to be with us”
“We wish him well … We need to close that chapter right now. We’re moving on,” Jackson added.
The Browns do indeed plan to part ways with Gordon, a source confirmed to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, but a timeline for such a move was not provided.
