There’s good news for Adrien Broner, the boxer will not be prosecuted for allegedly pulling a gun on a man while violently robbing him earlier this year.
Broner was charged with felonious assault and aggravated robbery after allegedly getting into a fight over a bet at a Cincinnati bowling alley back in January. A jury trial was scheduled to begin Wednesday, but according to a Hamilton County court clerk, the prosecutor’s witness was a no-show, so the judge dropped the charges.
Broner was present in court with his lawyer. It appears that Broner is completely in the clear in this case as the alleged victim dropped his civil suit against him a few months ago.
A rep for the boxer tells TMZ Sports, “We are happy that the charges were dropped. It was a major setback, but we’re glad we can move on from this and focus on getting AB back in the ring.”
Broner previously served time in jail for a probation violation in a DUI case, and again for arriving late and drunk to a hearing for this case. Hopefully all the legal matters are behind him and he really focuses on getting back in the ring.
