Following the bombs found in NJ and NY this weekend, two men found a bag of bombs Sunday night just waiting to blow up a NJ train station.
The two men found the bag late last night at an Elizabeth, NJ train station and reported it to authorities. The town os Elizabeth with an approximate population of 125,000 was put on lockdown as police worked to defuse several “improvised explosive devices” found in a garbage can near the city’s main train station. Elizabeth Mayor J. Christian Bollwage said that up to five pipe bombs were discovered in a backpack at around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday:
“[Two men] noticed a package in a wastebasket,” Bollwage told the press. “They took the package out of the wastebasket because they thought it was of some value to them.”
One of the bag’s bombs was accidentally detonated by a bomb robot during an investigation, with the remaining bombs being transferred to an FBI lab in Quantico, Va. You can see the detonation below:
