Bob Marley’s best friend Allan Cole is now suing Island, Universal and Tuff Gong music over the copyright on “War” and “Natty Dread.” Cole managed Marley for a few and claims to have written songs in the 70’s.
Cole says he was promised copyright credit but only was given props for co-writing the tracks. He says that he noticed this when he tried to transfer half his interest in “War” to the family of former Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I.
