19-year-old Kendra Childs was gunned down just before her birthday. Her boyfriend found her body on the bedroom floor around 13:30pm. Officials say a black Camaro stopped right in front of her home and fired shots through her apartment wall.
Mark Holdbrook of the Houston Police Department says,
“If you can see it’s just a blank wall, they wouldn’t have had known someone was exactly in there and it was a very unlucky shot.”
The suspect was seen as a black male with a shaved head. There may have been two people inside of the car. Her cousin, Angel Whitaker released a statement saying,
“I feel very broken, and it just hurt because she didn’t deserve to go like this. I understand it was her time, but she didn’t have to go like this. She didn’t even make it to her birthday tomorrow.”
Social media responded to the death with a hashtag #RIPKenya. Social media is a strong tool. Sometimes, they catch on to things before authorities do. There are a few tweets flying around of alleged text messages between Kendra’s boyfriend and another female. Although this woman is not a suspect, “linglingbaby” with the twitter handle is @__ladykocaine has been connected to violence.
On August 11, there was a message that read,
“Nothing makes me mad about a b—- saying she was with my n—- or whatever cause like I tell him… the hoe won’t be around too long.”
Two months ago, she wrote,
“My plan is to plot for a year… And I’m gone kill them people. [I don’t give a f—] if the [police] see this.”
Now if you go back to January, the girl wrote,
“I think I’m really evil enough to eat a [mother f—–] alive! Like b—- [I don’t give a f—] about you… I’ll real life kill you and eat you b—! F— you.”
The day before Kendra was killed, there was a tweet saying,
“Praying everything goes good [tomorrow]. But I just know it will.”
There has been no tweets since the shooting which is extremely fishy. Childs leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter.
#RIPKendra.
