Stephen Curry set an NBA record with 402 three-pointers last season, destroying his record of 286 three-pointers the prior year. Most NBA players find the sharpshooter difficult to guard, but this 17-year-old Filipino player earned a highlight against the Golden State Warriors star.
Curry was in Taipei, Taiwan, on the last stop of his Under Armour Asia tour. In an exhibition game, a camper named Gian Mamuyac – who played for the Philippines at the FIBA Asia Under-18 championship earlier this summer – rejected Curry’s last-second 3-pointer and stunned the crowd.
Mamuyac block not only went viral, he was named MVP of the Taipei leg of Curry’s tour, and will reportedly get to go to Curry’s camp in the United States. That’s a pretty huge score for the kid.
