12 time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte was suspended today by the collective…USOC, the IOC, and USA Swimming. Bet he’ll think again before lying to the world.
In case you’re not an avid Olympics follower, 32-year-old (yes, 32) Lochte and a few other Olympic swimmers lied to the entire world claiming they were accosted and robbed in Rio during the 2016 Olympics. No one questioned their sincerity initially, because unfortunately, there had been a rash of incidents happening in the country at the time. As it turns though, they were not robbed, THEY were the villains in this case. They trashed a local gas station and were stopped by security, not robbed at gunpoint. Rio officials eventually pressed charges, and America has finally put the smack down on he and several other US swimmers that participated in the embarrassing lie.
Lochte seems to be taking the brunt of the punishment though. He was issued a 6-month suspension from all swimming activities and competitions. This came down from USA Swimming, the United States Olympics Committee, and the International Olympics Committee. Damn Ryan. They mad at you bro!!
