Since Colin Kaepernick decided he would not stand for the National Anthem in protest of the oppression, inequality and police brutality against black people, his jersey sales have shot up.
Kaepernick’s jersey was the 20th best seller among 49ers players before he refused to stand for the National Anthem. His jersey is now the top seller among all NFL players. More Kaepernick jerseys have been sold in a week since he protested than the past eight months combined.
Kaepernick has now bested Dallas Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliot and New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. People who weren’t fans of the team or Kaepernick, are now buying his jersey in huge numbers to show solidarity for his message.
Kaepernick took to his Instagram account to thank everyone for their support and announced that he was donating the proceeds back to the community.
