In one of the biggest drug busts of France’s history, almost 1000 pounds of cocaine was discovered in one of their Coca-Cola factories, totaling $56 million.
A recent shipment of orange juice concentrate from Costa Rica contained 370 kilograms (815 pounds) of coke hidden in bags throughout.
“The first elements of the investigation have shown that employees are in no way involved,” said Jean-Denis Malgras, the company’s regional president.
Leading to a local prosecutor calling the discovery “a very bad surprise”, Twitter of course couldn’t handle themselves in the gallery above lol.
It’s pretty much general knowledge these days that early versions of Coca-Cola contained coca leaf extract, but the company says that cocaine was never an “added ingredient.”
