My best guess is that neither Trump’s nor uber Trump supporter Curt Schilling’s opinions on Colin Kaepernick’s decision to forego standing for the National Anthem will shock you, but go ahead and listen anyway. You might learn something.

So a few things for me.

1 is that this IS America and if Kaepernick decides to sit, roll on the ground, or blow bubbles, it’s his decision…and right. It’s kind of like owning guns and publicly spewing hate about other nationalities, races, religions, or even The President of these here united states.

2 is that people never cease to amaze me…especially during election season. Anything and everything is fair game. Lies, flip-flopping, hate, abuse of power…you name it, it goes down.

Finally, what is good for the goose is never good for the gander. How can you MAKE someone else have your opinion about something? How can you force someone to do what you want them to? Stop it Curt Schilling.

Personally, I appreciate the fact that Colin wanted to use his celebrity to bring awareness to oppression and inequality. I do not believe that it is his intention to offend anyone that has fought for this amazing land that we live in. I also believe though- that those same people fought for equality and freedom; those not all of us have the privilege of enjoying on a daily basis. He definitely accomplished visibility, it’s just unfortunate that ignorance does not enable the masses to view it that way.

Trump:
“I think it’s personally not a good thing,” Trump said … “I think it’s a terrible thing…Maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try. It won’t happen.”

Though I do agree with Trump on his last statement, I also believe that the current state of racial affairs in the USA is a “terrible thing” as well. #EndRant
