Ty Lawson is given another chance to prove himself after as he’s agreed to a one-year deal with the Sacramento Kings.
Lawson started his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets but was arrested twice for DUI, leading to his exit. The Houston Rockets sent Denver a first-round pick for the embattled guard but the experiment of him coexisting with All-Star guard James Harden didn’t quite work out. Lawson agreed to a contract buyout with the Rockets in March. He then signed with the Indiana Pacers and averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 assists in 13-regular season games.
For his career, the 2009 first-round pick out of North Carolina has averaged 13.1 points, 6.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
At 28-years-old, Lawson still can help a team in the right situation, but he must prove he can play at a higher level than he did last season.
The financial terms of the deal are not yet known.
