Lifetime announced earlier today that they’d be bringing the life of Britney Jean Spears to the small screen come this fall.

Per their press release, the network described the tale of her “tumultuous true story” to be depicted as the following:
“The two-hour movie will follow Spears’ early career as a young girl from Louisiana and her relationship and breakup with Justin Timberlake as well as her personal struggles following her parents’ divorce. Also set to be examined are her marriages to Jason Alexander, Kevin Federline and her downfall that saw her lose custody of her sons before she rebuilt her career and proved herself to be a force in entertainment.”
However, much like the Aaliyah biopic, this doesn’t have the blessing of Spears or her camp. A rep for the superstar singer told EW yesterday that she would not contribute to Britney “in any way, shape or form … nor does it have her blessing.” I’m assuming this means that none of her music will be included, then.
Natasha Bassett (below) will star as Spears in Britney, with production set to begin September 19 for a 2017 premiere.
