27-year-old Adam Hilarie was shot and killed after being set up by a woman he met on ‘Plenty of Fish.’ 18-year-old Hailey Rose Bustos was the young lady responsible for the set up.
Auburndale Deputy Chief Andy Ray released a statement saying,
“Her comfort with the way this went, didn’t seem like it was her first time. If she hasn’t done it before, then she has talked to people who have done it.”
On Thursday night, Hilarie and Bustos went bowling. After the first date, Bustos told Hilarie she would like to see him again. That next evening, what Hilarie thought was a night with Bustos turned out to be his last night. She bought over three men with her to steal “TVs, an Xbox, and an iPhone.” The set up ended with a Hilarie being shot in his head. An arrest report states,
“Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a 5-year-old daughter.”
Andre Maurice Warner, 26, Gary Terrell Gray, 31, Joshua Ellington, 26, and Bustos were all charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a deadly weapon, and first-degree murder. Bustos and Ellington were also charged with charges for violating probation. A GoFundMe page has been made for Hilarie. His brother, Angel Cruz, released a statement saying,
“I would never want anyone to be in the shoes I am in right now, or my family, or any of our close friends, anyone.”
Prayers go up to this family. Such a sad story.
