Usain Bolt had plenty of reasons to celebrate while in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He won gold medals in every competition he participated in, winning the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4×100-meter races. Bolt also became the first man to complete the triple-triple of winning gold in those three races in three straight Olympics (2008, 2012 and 2016). And to top all that off, the Jamaican sprinter turned 30-years-old on Sunday, giving him even more reason to go out and party on the town.
Unfortunately for Bolt, he fell victim to the social media era, where people tape everything and post it online. First he was caught dancing on a woman in a Rio club while Rihanna’s “Work” played in the background. But that wasn’t the worst of it…
On the same night the video was taken, Bolt was also seen cozied up with a 20-year old Rio woman named Jady Duarte. According to the Daily Mail, Duarte posted two photos on the social media platform WhatsApp, that appeared to show her and the world’s fastest man in bed together, and him kissing her on the cheek.
According to the Daily Mail, she’s the widow of a former Rio drug lord named Douglas Donato Pereira, aka Diná Terror. Pereira built a drug empire in the shantytown of Faz Quem Quer and committed at least ten violent crimes in the city before being killed by police during a shootout in March. Duarte reportedly had two children with Pereira.
Shortly after the photos of Duarte and Bolt began to go viral, she spoke with a local newspaper Extra and referred to the photos as “very negative.” She also said she is “dying of shame” and “never wanted to be famous.” According to Duarte, she was completely unaware of who Bolt was when she met him. She told the paper that she first spoke with him after he sent a security guard to ask her if she wanted to talk.
The other major problem is, Bolt has a girlfriend named Kasi Bennett whom he’s been with for two years. In fact, their relationship is so serious, Bolt’s sister Christine Bolt-Hylton revealed there was “a very strong possibility” the two were going to get engaged once Bolt arrived back in Jamaica following the Olympics.
Bolt hasn’t responded to the stories but his girlfriend did tweet and delete this; “Doing something I’m pretty sure I’ve made fun of people for doing… But here goes : I’m tapped out. Logging off.”
