Retirement just keeps looking better and better for The Black Mamba who recently began a venture capital firm, Bryant Stibel. The home of his former team is actually declaring a day in his name.
Kobe Bryant Day is set to be Wednesday, August 24th, the day after his 38th birthday. After spending his entire NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, the city wants to give back a smidge to the man that’s given them so much.
‘Kobe Bryant Day’ is the City of Los Angeles’ way of thanking him for his single-minded dedication to excellence, the fans and the entire City and region of Los Angeles. For 20 years, we were all the beneficiaries of Kobe’s incredible talent & legendary work ethic, and on 8-24 we’ll gather to say, ‘Thank you, Mamba.’
– Council member Jose Huizar was quoted as stating.
I mean, yeah, it’s true. Pretty awesome for Kobe. Wonder if he’ll get a parade.
