Rapper Freddie Gibbs was arrested in France during a tour back in June, accused of a rape in Austria in the year prior. Since then, he’s been forced to remain overseas, and though he was eventually bailed out of the French jail, he was soon extradited to Austria, where he was just formally charged in the case.

Austrian authorities are claiming that Gibbs “is alleged to have administered knock-out drops to a woman and then have abused her sexually while she was in a defenseless state.” He is now facing up to 10 years in prison for the “sexual abuse of a defenseless or psychologically impaired person,” but still maintains his innocence.
“While Freddie Gibbs was charged with an offense today, it remains only an allegation, and it does not in any way change the actual facts that Freddie Gibbs is 100 percent innocent,” his lawyer said.
Let’s hope this gets sorted out soon!
