It was announced not to long ago that Lesley McSpadden, Mike Brown’s mother, was going to be featured on the line-up of the DNC. St. Louis photographer/journalist Bobby Hughes wasn’t a fan of this apparently. He said, in a now-deleted FB post,
“She’s going to talk about the new lead diet she’s endorsed. Five servings and you can lose 200 lbs in two years easily.”

Yeah…he got fired. Shout-out to “The Ethical Society of Police”, a group that represents black police in St. Louis, for putting the journalist on blast. Hughes has apologized since then but Vice President Marlon A. Walker (of The Ethical Society of Police) was not trying to hear it.
“Race relations in the St. Louis area already were tense before Michael Brown’s death. To poke the bear while the wounds are still fresh from Aug. 9, 2014 was irresponsible. Our job as journalists dictate we do better.”
