Dwyane Wade has been a member of the Miami Heat for a few weeks now but today they really made things official with his introductory press conference in Chicago. The idea of him not wearing a Heat jersey is something we are still getting used to but for Wade, winding up in the Windy City playing for the Bulls is a “dream come true” in his words. He spoke for about 45 minutes and addressed some of his new teammates, making it clear that the Bulls are Jimmy Butler’s team.

“So, we’re not going to go through this all year. This is Jimmy Butler’s team. Myself and Rondo are here to bring what we bring as athletes to this team and to this city. He’s the young Bull on this team. He’s a 26-year-old who can play 40 minutes if coach wants him to and maybe more. I ain’t trying to do all that. And we’re going to depend on him a lot.”
Wade also spoke on his past dealings with Rondo but how it’s only made him respect him. “Rondo is someone I’ve competed against so much, but we were competing for championships. I want to play with a guy like that.”
While still showing an enormous amount of love to Heat fans and the organization, he seems truly happy to be home. “I’m thankful to be here today,” Wade said. “This is one of those moments that is a dream come true. Simply that. I’m a Chicago guy, a Chicago kid. I remember sitting on the floor and watching the Chicago Bulls win their first title. I was 9 years old, watching on an itty bitty tv, and I said, ‘That’s what I want to do, that’s who I want to be.’
