A Somali immigrant by the name of Abdirahman Abdi, died after an altercation with the Ottawa Police. People are outraged as they claim that Abdi was yet another victim of police brutality and anti-black racism. The man also had a mental illness.
Witnesses say police used a baton to arrest Abdi which was highly unnecessary. A man by the name of David Thyne, watched the whole altercation from his balcony. He states,
“They were really, really going at him and he was screaming. He was pleading with them to stop.”
So sad. This man did not deserve this.
