Marcus, the brother of Michael Vick, was captured on camera literally running from cops and being captured at gunpoint during an incident back in April.
It began when in Newport News, Virginia when cops were questioning the 32-year old about a warrant out for his arrest stemming from a civil case.
Vick spoke with cops for nearly 10 minutes before suddenly deciding to take off running. He shoved two cops out of the way, breaking tackles and sprinting down street.
The cops gave chase but Vick was WAY faster (he ran a 4.42 in the 40 at the 2006 NFL Combine). He and his brother both have that crazy speed.
It seemed like he was gong to get away but he eventually tired out and sat down on the ground and gave himself up.
The trailing officer caught up with Vick as he sat on the ground. The officer drew his weapon, pointed it at the seated Vick and ordered him to show his hands and lay on his stomach. He didn’t listen until another cop pulled up in a car and forced him to turn over. Considering how tense things are between black men and cops right now, Vick is pretty lucky it didn’t escalate further.
He was taken into custody and later convicted of resisting arrest and sentenced to a year in jail with 11 months suspended. He also got 12 months probation.
The cops were obviously familiar with Vick as one said, “If he ran I knew we weren’t gonna catch him.”
