Back in March a four month old boy died at an unlicensed daycare in Fairfield, CT. After toxicology tests were administered the cause of death has been determined that the child died to high levels on Benadryl in his system. The child’s death has been ruled a homicide.

Connecticut state officials have said that the four month old Adam Seagull was not sick at the time of his death, nor did his body show any signs of trauma. Authorities have come forward and do not believe that the consumption of the medication was not accidental.
“The consumption of the medication wasn’t accidental. This baby was 4-months-old. Someone administered Benadryl to this child. I am not saying there was intent to kill the baby, but as a result of that Benadryl, this child died. We are working to determine who, when and why this baby was given these meds.”
Said Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara.
Charges have not yet been filed and it’s likely because the daycare had been operating without the proper licensing. “Without that licensing, there are no checks and balances. Without the proper training, you can’t ensure a child’s safety,” says the chief.
