A woman has now suffered third-degree burns from pennies that she sat on in her car. Melissa Sechrist of Moore, Oklahoma had to take herself to the hospital after she claims the pain from the burning pennies was excruciating.
She says she thought she could self treat the burn but the pain got out of control. Sechrist says,
“It was just horrible pain I’ve never felt before in my life.”
She was given multiple pain meds to help ease the pain. Weeks later, Sechrist says she is still in pain when she sits down and even when she stands. Sechrist says,
“Everybody needs to watch for coins on their seats because it does burn. I would hate to see a child with these kind of burns on their legs.”
